I'm a bit junior here....

I have a stand that constantly slips on the floor when people push against it. So, I want to put some material on the bottom of the stand. I'm thinking:
1. 3M Bumpon
2. some other rubber like material

However, I have a few issues:
1. Is 3M really the place to go? or are there better materials and places to ask for a solution?
2. How do I calculate shear stress when a 200lb person is pushing on the stand, but also sitting in a rolling chair. I forgot how to ratio the forces =/

Some concerns:
> You don't specify the flooring itself. Some materials suck on specific types of floors.
> Are there any contaminants. Some materials work great while dry, but suck when they're wet
> While not sliding sounds good, in principle, can the stand be overturned? If the base doesn't move, then something else might, and that might be worse than having a sliding stand.
