I would like to share the profile between different users, so I need to know where is it saved under file Plot in NX7.5.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what you mean, but if you want to know the profile (or role from a user) the best thing you can do is to search in your NX log file after a mtx file.
Should be something like this :
c:\ugs\ugnx75\ugii\menus\roles\essentials.mtx

Go to the NX Help files (User Documentation) and search on "Printer Profile". The first 4 results will cover the information needed to set-up a Printer as a Plotter. It's during this process, which BTW is a system administrator's task, where you will define the printer 'Profile'.

Hi John,

I know the printer setup. Have a look at the attached file wich show the file plot/Advanced plot action.
I need to know where this profile is saved.

Ok now i understand, have a look at the attached file this is the explanation of the user profile and print group.
From what i understand of it the profile is stored in the user home directory. But in my case we don't use this because our sysadmin has created the files on the server.

Windows:
!
! GROUP_DIR C:\My Printers
! JOBS_DIR ${UGII_TMP_DIR}\bps\My Printers
! HOME_DIR ${HOME}\bps\My Printers
! LABEL My Printers
!
! 3. The third line specifies keyword HOME_DIR followed by the path of
! the "home" directory that stores user profiles for this printer group.
! Because user-specific files are created in this directory, you will
! probably prefer to create this directory under the user's home
! directory. The NX Print dialog creates node-specific files under
! this directory.
!
But I found the other user specific files in this folder :
C:\Documents and Settings\"your windows login name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Unigraphics Solutions\NX75
You need to set the 'Show hidden files and directories' in your folder options in windows.

But maybe John can explain a little more.

Best regards,

Michaël.

I've never personally set-up a printer/plotter profile before (I just use a normal Print routine at home and in the office the plot servers are already set-up by the system administrators). Perhaps it would be best to call GTAC and ask them about this.

@DidierPSICAD
since nx 6 you have to set up the UGII_SDI_OVERRIDE_HOME
in setting based on the UGII_SDI_SERVER_CFG_DIR configuration.
the alternative is to use the printergrouplistfile:
@MickyV007
GROUP_DIR where the base plotter configs and system profile are stored like UGII_SDI_SERVER_CFG_DIR. The JOBS_DIR is temporary folder for the plottjobs - HOME_DIR is the folder where the indivdual plott profiles are stored - may be share on the network.
