I am in the process of designing a remote controlled lawn mower which utilizes only one engine to drive the wheels and the blade. In order to avoid having to design a steering mechanism, I want to use a differential and simply brake one side to make it turn that way. I am having trouble finding a supplier of ready made diffs and was wondering if somebody might know of one. I can design the diff myself but could save a lot of time by buying a complete one.
Thanks in advance

swerider, don't know from you post what "class" of mower you have in mind, but most SP walk-behinds have a differential or equivalent arrangement, such as a one-way cluth in each drive wheel. I'm sure the riders must have a differential. I guess I'd check with Murray, Roper etc.

Regards.

There are a lot of surplus ones on the market, if you google for them, I'm sure you can find some.

Bailey's lawn mower parts has differentials, but you need to know what you are looking for.

me of the better transmissions and differentials are made by Peerless. They should have what you need or know who does. Here is link to some cut sheets of some of their products. The only problem is they have so many different models.
When you find a model that fits your need and as posted above their is lot of surplus units out there.
I've bought several units on the surplus market that were from discontinued models and still in the original sealed box.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the replies.
@SnTMan, not sure if it fits into a class, it's just a remote controlled lawn mower for large yards and only has to carry its own weight. One-way clutch won't work in my application but SP mower diffs would work well.
Will check out all the suggested suppliers
