Hi. I have been using a lot of part patterns in my assemblies, And I was wondering if is better to use the patterns than many instances of a part, in order to get a "ligther" assembly and to get more performance in my workstation... I mean, instead of use two fasteners, I put only one, and I create a feature pattern in the two holes, is that better than the two fasteners?

Generally, a Component pattern is the way to go, especially if there are many instances, as you don't have to create all the mates individually & it makes for a simpler/smaller FM tree.

If you only have a couple of instances, then it's a toss-up.

I agree, espesially if your deriving a bolt pattern from the corresponing hole pattern in a part. Change the hole pattern and the bolts should follow suit. One thing to remember, if you decide that one of the bolts in the pattern needs to be different (i.e. an inch longer) it will have to be a configuration of the seed part. Replace is not allowed within a pattern.
