Which Screw stud to be used?

Hi All,
I need your help.

I have two 3mm steel sheet. I want to connect both of them with the screw stud.
Also I don't want the screw surface to protrude over the sheet on both sides.
Is there any self tapping screw studs available? if So can anyone help me with the Standard of screws? Is there any other best method ?

I would not try and use screws in this application, I don't think you will be happy with the results. There are a lot of other options such as the ones below, though I can't think of any that are easily removable.

- Double flush head rivets
- Press in PEMs
- Spot welds

Just buy a 6mm sheet; much cheaper.
