Hi,
We're having a difference of opinion on wire color standards for an upgrade to some of our production equipment. The machinery was built in europe and wired to their standards (e.g +24 vdc being blue and brown). Over the last couple of years a few mod's have been done here and there and wiring color standards have varied based on whomever did the work. Now we're getting ready to do a major overhaul and some people want to maintain the european wiring standards, while others (myself included) say we need to adhere to NEC standards for all the wiring we're adding and replacing. Some people have even said that we can wire using european standards but then put electrical tape on the ends using NEC standards. Who's right?
