When using a part attribute that has a data type of "number" and dimesionality of "unitless" units of "unitless" and I then try display this in an identification symbol. It displays with 10 zeros following it. I want it to display the whole number only...Its not an option to change anything in the attribute, because everything is grayed out except the actual value. The information does appear correctly in the parts list... just the id symbol is screwy

Are you talking about an 'attribute' or an 'expression'? I ask, since you imply that you might be using NX 6.0 or NX 7.5, and until NX 8.0, there was no direct control over the 'units' of an Attribute even if it was a numerical value, or are you only talking about something that you're doing in NX 8.0?

Hello John...its a part attribute...and I'm on NX8. I am using (maybe) the attribute in place of the standard "callout" in the partslist. I made it numerical so it would sort correctly.

If you're using NX 8.0, why not use an Attribute with the 'Data Type' of 'Integer'? A 'Date Type' of 'Number' will always be a floating point value irrespective of whether there are 'Units' assigned or not.

I cant change the value of the attribute its grayed out, but I guess I could of just create a new one. as you described. But this doesnt matter now, I am going to use the standard UG callouts...your solution in the other post about "Manual Autoballoon" changed that...Thanks...Fred
