I just recieved a project for an athletic club locker room. The restroom area of the locker room has a whirlpool and eight (8) showers. Does anyone know of any standards in which to design the exhaust system for this area? I would like to exhaust the steam (from the showers and whirlpool) but I am not quite sure how to determine the rate of exhaust. Thanks for your comments.

For a good starting place have you reviewed the mechanical and building code for your area? Also, take a look in the ASHRAE’s application and systems books.

A typical value is 75cfm/shower. As stated above you will want to consult the governing code.
