Just for fun, try this.

Make a new assembly, using any 2 parts. Simple parts will do.
Assemble the first part as DEFAULT.
Assemble the second part. Pick a flat surface from one part, and then from the other part.
Once you see the message prompt: "INDICATE OFFSET DIMENSION", click the "X" button. Do not enter a value.
Now, what value of offset do you see in the placement window?

1) 0.00
2) 10.00
3)-1000000
4) 3.14
5) -6500.00

Tune in tomorrow for the answer. Or you can try it yourself.

hmm.. my X button is greyed out :(

I think the answer is 42

....my X button is grayed too. (ProE2001)

Can we have another option like this:

6) none of above

It's funny. My X button is also greyed out today. I will see what changed since yetserday and post my findings. And no, I wasn't dipping into the holiday booze yesterday...promise.

But the offset value was -1,000,000 (yes, one milllliioon inches, that's almost 3 times higher than most commercial jets fly. You need a really big screen to see both parts on the screen!!).

Maybe the PTC programmers are playing a mind game with the users.

Well... I guess Wildfire was a mind game in itself.
