Why does section plane gets offset when using View > New Section view in Modeling

Hi ,

When creating View > Section > New Section , why does NX puts an offset value when we select the X or Y or Z plane with option set to Absolute Orientation ? Why cant it start from 0.00 , Usually its some random value..

Any thoughts on this?

Doesn't it use your last entered value ?
Dialog memory ?

I suspect that it looks at the bounding box of the part (or assembly) and cuts it in 1/2.

No it does not remember the dialog memory..

I also suspect the same.. I wish Siemens could have been more smarter and kept the offset at 0.00 instead of setting it to a random number which might be middle of bounding box of that part or assembly.
