Hello to all,
I am modeling a rolling ball onto the surface using ANSYS Mechanical APDL. I modeled a ball far from 1mm from the plate then I applied displacement in order to the ball comes in contact. but before the ball detects the surface I see compress stress on the plate. I used these settings for contact element: Contact Detection=Gauss point, initial penetration= include everything, automatic contact adjustment= closed gap. sometimes I manipulated settings but in that case, I had no stress even when bodies came in contact. I attached the log file it would be nice of you if you take a look at it.
It should be noted I used displacement control approach and the applied displacement is equaled with 170N (it means if we do this simulation correctly (after the ball impressed to the plate) we should see the reaction force of 170N)
Regards
