I am currently performing non-linear analyses for dented tubular members subjected to bending moments using ABAQUS. I am modeling a 1000x25 tube with length 5000 mm. The boundary conditions are simply supported using continuum distributing coupling at tube ends. The moment loadings also applied at tube ends. I am using element type S9R5 and mesh size is 25 mm x 25 mm. The analysis used is Static, Riks. Increment arc length is 1, 1, 1, 10000. However, the results always come out with error message: "Too many attempts made for this increment" or "The increment time specified is less than required". Any idea what is wrong with my model? I am assuming the problem is related with the moment loading. Because when I applied axial loading, the analysis results are correct.
