Hello everyone. I've been reading the AASHTO green book (geometric design - 2018).
In the section 3.3.10.2, the manual says that on simple (unspiraled) curves, widening should be applied on the inside edge of the traveled way only.
Can someone explain to me why is that? There would be trucks on boths lanes, I don't know why in this case we should apply the widening only on the inside, when on the outside edge, a large truck like a WB-20 could have problems too.
