As anybody any experience of wifi networks. I am currently looking at using 18 Unitronics Vision 290 PLC's ( for a production management system. Each PLC will communicate via a SAP database through a PC Interface. Initially i was going to connect all the PLC's to the PC using Ethernet cable, however i recently saw some serial bluetooth devices by sena technologies ( the Parani 10 and the Parani 100. Each PLC would have a Parani 10 connected to it and the Parani 100 basically acts as a bluetooth router. As anybody had experience of these products and how easy it is to interface the data to the PC. Networks are not my strong point. I really want to send the data from the PLC using modbus protocol. Any suggestions?
The beauty about the Sena products is that they are really well priced (£60 ea for the parani10 and £240 for a 14 gate router, but if anyone has any better vendors, i'm all ears

I am using a Mitsumi USB Bluetooth dongle and Promi Bluetooth serial port for online programming Omron CS/CJ PLCs all the time. Works great up to 100 metres - depending on what it has to punch through.

I tried the Sena LS100W without success to A Koyo 105PLC. I could get it to send the info over the wi-fi but for some reason the PLC would not respond to it.
