We use both Pro-E and SolidWorks and I have tried to export parasolid files to SW from Pro-E but the file always comes up invalid. What version is the parasolid? I just do a save copy and select the parasolid file type and name the file. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

Look in the header of the .x_t file for the version.

This is from a UG V18 Parasolid export file:
**PART2;
SCH=SCH_1302264_13006;

This is from Wildfire2 M020:
**PART2;
SCH=SCH_1000149_10004;

Wildfire is writing a Parasolid V10 file, which would be about 5-6 years old. For SolidWorks, I think any version since 98 or 99 should be able to read a V10 Parasolid file.

Ben,
Any idea why Solidworks calls this as an invalid file then? I have tried this a number of times all with fail. Have you had luck with Pro-E parasolids in UG?

I just imported my test file into UG with no problems.

send me an e-mail with your Parasolid file and I will see if I can read it.

Have you got enable_parasolid_export set to yes in your config.pro

WF2 doesn't require the option.
