I have serious doubts about this but it has been done in the shop so I wanted to see if I am missing something here. First, the application is a vacuum line. The female thread is a 1/2-14NPT. The male fitting is a 1/2-14 BSPP thread with an o-ring seal. I wouldn't think that combo would work. I might see the NPT going into a BSPP hole if the thread pitch was the same but not the other way around. Also there is a thread flank angle difference, NPT is 60 degrees and BSPP is 55 degrees. Not to mention some minor root detail differences. So, is this possible?
Thanks
