Wilson's Splines

I have read with interest some of the threads regarding 'hidden' functions within V5 and how to access them using enviroment variables.

Some of these are very useful (Product to CatPart for example) though I don't fully understand some of the others, the Wilson Spline Functionality and Rolling Offset within GSD being a couple that spring to mind.

Can somebody please explain what is a Wilson Spline and how, having enabled the variable, I can use this function.

Also can somebody give an example of when a rolling offset would be used, I've managed to enable the function which appaers in GSD but can't quite get my head around when to use it.

Have found a ref to Fowler Wilson splines from the 1960's will bring all the books I have with references to splines etc to work tomorrow!

Perhaps should also publish something here also?
