Winch drum & flanges thickness

How do i calculate the thickness of the drum & flanges
on a winch drum ?

Lenght 1,5m , D=1,2m , wiredia=32mm , flangedia=1,8m
linepull=48MT= 480000N

I tried to apply the DNV rules but got a 14cm wallthickness
on the drum.. overkill or not ?
