Wind girders / stiffners

Hello

I have two fixed roof tanks designed as per API 650 .

One is 3.5 m diameter and 4.5 m height .

Other one is 4.8 m diameter and 5 meter height .

Are stiffening rings / wind girders required in our case .

You can check per API 650 but by inspection such small tanks would not require wind girders. If you include a top kerb angle this would be ample.

See API-650 5.9.7.1, which describe formula for maximum height of unstiffened shell based on wind speed and thickness of shell plate other than diameter and height.
Apparently mentioned dia and height tank doesn't required any stiffener ring.
