Hello,

I am trying to make the structure fall due to wind force in abaqus. I have used dynamic explicit in step and I applied velocity of wind using predefined field tab. I placed the geometry on top of surface( analytical rigid) where surface is fixed and geometry has no boundary conditions. It has only general contact with surface where I did in interaction. I have a complex geometry but I made something simple and similar I am trying to achieve. If am doing anything wrong in load or boundary conditions please guide me. See the attached file to get clear picture

The initial velocity defines the initial velocity of the nodes, not of the load.

I would think a pressure load could represent a wind load.

But does pressure load represents loads on element? its similar to body force right? How do you change the load by time using amplitude for example. with time increment wind load increase and decrease

A pressure load acts on the surface of elements. A amplitude allows to change of the load during the simulation.

Maybe you should go through the Getting Started Manual first.

Yes am new to wind simulation. I tried to find tutorials for it but I could not find any. If you have link on how to do it that would be great. Even if it is on simple rectangular surface.
