What wind speed do you use for designing street light poles in Bahamas ?

Should we use 150 mph?

Is aashto wind speed maps applicable outside of USA?

There should be a local building department in Nassau. Call them and find out.

The AASHTO luminaire Manual recommends 145 for Puerto Rico & Virgin Islands (BTW - these are outside the continental US) and 150 for the southern tip of Florida.

Thanks for sharing your opinions, guys. I guess I should call the local authorities. If in any case they say to use less than 150 and the calcs fails, I will have to let them know that outemost band is 150mph.
