Is there a big difference (as far as user interface, commands, etc) between Ideas in Windows and Ideas in Unix? Several of our designers in Shanghai have been trained in Ideas on Windows workstations, but they will be using Ideas on Unix workstations. Besides learning Unix commands to start and maintain the workstation, should we expect any issues with them not knowing how to operate Unix based Ideas? Will they require re-training to use Unix based Ideas? My guess is no, but a colleague believes the programs are very different. Any help, opinions, witty anecdotes would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

I ran i-deas on hp-ux and xppro sometimes the gui is slightly different. The top menu (File etc) is placed different but the structure is more or less the same.

I think when ugs or eds took over sdrc they lauched the change the gui competition as current in every release of nx. I am pretty sure that the different gui options are available only on windows and not on unix. You can choose between two or three layouts on windows.
