I'm having trouble finding a wire crimping spec for what looks like stainless steel wire with a clear vinyl jacket. The wire I believe is 8 gage wire. If any of you know where I could find a list of specs it'd be greatly appreciated.

You should check with a crimping supplier such as Tyco/Amp, Molex, Panduit. 8awg copper usually requires something bigger than a hand crimper such as a hydraulic crimper. Stainless cable would definately require some massive crimping forces.

Crimping cables is more often called swagging. If you google for cable swagging you should get plenty of info.

Swagging is what most of us do for a living... [tongue]

To those of you for whom English is not your primary language, SWAG is a commonly used coloquialism. It stands for Scientific Wild Ass Guess!

Just out of curiosity, do people in other English speaking countries use that term too?
