I read the thread821-197688 and now I try to explain.
The main advantages of wire race bearings are the slim bearing cross section, lightweight and usability in lots of materials.
Thus allows to use e.g. aluminum, brass or similar materials for the enclosing design.
Furthermore with wire race bearings the rotational resistance or torque can be adjusted exactly to your needs.
Nevertheless there are disadvantages like increased efforts with the assembly. You need work accurate while assembling.
By the way, Rotek is in Partnership with Franke GmbH ( in Germany, which was founded by Erich Franke, the inventor of wire race bearings.
