I would like to ask for an opinion, is Tubing Conveyed perforation has an advantage on wireline Conveyed Perforation?

I use TCP as when I know what to expect from the reservoir. If I am sure that the zone will be productive and I know what tubing size I will need before I perforate then I use TCP. This way there is no need to kill the well or snub as you would have to if you perforated with wireline.

Thanks. Would you prefer using TCP even the well is vertical and reserves are not that big as per calculations? Can u give me also running procedures using wireline?

A completions engineer would be able to give you better details on wireline perforating procedures than I would.

I don't necessarly prefer TCP over wireline. It depends on if you want to do any testing before you commit to running tubing in the well. And if you think you will want to frac the well you will want to use wireline so that you can frac down casing.

OK. I would appreciate if somebody from this forum, a Completions engineer help me on this.

I would do Testing but no Frac. Someone told me that TCP will be an overkill for such a small reserve well. How much more will I be added on rig-days if I will run Wireline and test.

General procedure for TCP perforation is:
- Swab the well
- prepare and run TCP stack
- depth correction
- Adjust depth and mount wellhead on. Drop the bar/perforate.
For Eline is:
- Circulate to completion fluid
- Swab (or maybe not)
- Rig in ELine
- Run in hole and perforate.

As you can see, during TCP perforation the WH is on, so you have control over the well. It allows perforating the well partially or fully underbalanced. This is the main advantage of TCP, and it used therefore in sensitive formations.
Main disadvantage are the cost and a certain degree of expertise.

If you think that no matter what but the well will need stimulation after perforation, you can go with eline perforation.
