Wiring schemaitc example .dwg file.

I was wondering if someone can help me by giving a .dwg file of a wiring schematic as an example where I can build off of and use as a starting place. Also if someone could tell me the formal name/type of schematic/diagram that is pictured in the attached file.

Based on the note you put in your jpg, you should not be attempting to create wiring schematics! Leave it to someone with more electrical knowledge - you could cause a fire.

xnuke, sorry for the confusion. This was a .jpg I grabbed off the web to show what style of wiring schematic I am inquiring about. I am familiar with proper wiring techniques/code and have done small scale automation projects. Usually my wiring diagrams are lackluster hence trying to do a better job at gaining some knowledge.

If you don't know something you ask a question, which is what I was doing. The real danger is doing without knowing and NOT asking questions.

I'm glad to hear this wasn't your drawing. It looks to me like it was a schematic drawn in AutoCAD Electrical. If you are doing a lot of automation, especially motor/machine control, ACADE can be a useful tool - provided you're willing to spend the time to learn it.

Yes acade would be the format of choice but like I said, I don't do enough electrical work to warrant the price of that software. I have spoken with larger automation houses in the past and some of their EE's have said they get by with just plain autocad for wiring diagrams. You do not get the cross referencing and other great tools like you do with acade but at least you get a clear, concise, and easy to follow wiring diagram. This is why I was looking for a .dwg file that has some layout work or at least a template with the needed symbols so I can get by with basic autocad.

Just create your own symbol library/blocks with the symbols/components YOU use..
