I'm trying to connect the wires on a compressor but don't want to damage it.
The resistance readings are.

Grey to Grey 30
Blue to Yellow 10
Blue to Greys 25
Yellow to Greys 18

The Black has two spades on it.

Can anyone help.

Or
Take it to a motor shop.

Any data on the motor itself?

Voltage, 3 phase or single?

Manufacturer, model no ?

Nothing on the junction box cover?

Single phase, no data plate, I think the yellow may be the supply and blue, neutral but don't know about the centrifugal switch.

Virtually impossible without knowing what those wires connect to inside.

Where does the other black wire go / connected to?

It probably connected to one of those wires, but which one??

As Waross suggests, it's a very simple task for a competent "motor person" to call out each lead correctly.

The motor must be dismantled to determine where each external lead is connected within the motor.
The lead with the spade terminal provides the most infomation. It's a portion of the start circuit.
Wire color is meaningless in this instance.

I can't find anyone local that woks on electrical motors, part of the throw away world now

Why don't you just take it apart yourself?

It's not in working condition now so you're not going to wreck it and might learn something in the process.

Hint = take some photos as you're taking it apart.

There is no way you can pay for this to be repaired less than a new one, so just use it as a learning opportunity.

I know it runs okay, when I bought it it would start but only keep going for five seconds, my "friend" said it only needed the Run condenser replaced but said he would also replace the mains cables, he took it apart then disappeared, hence my problem.

No, It RAN ok, past tense.....

And surely its the run capacitor?

Were both capacitors external to the motor?

time to get the screwdriver / spanners out.
