I need to run a check with the reduced E due to high temperature. I tried using "code check" and apparently you can only change certain properties and E is not one of them. Is there a different function in staad that would design the member with AISC code but with a user define steel properties?

Thanks.

I think you can create custom materials, not sure if this will solve it or which properties it allows for customization but worth checking out.

yes, you can change the property for the deflection check, but with the "code check" command, it will check against the default steel properties with user defined Fy. Just wondering if anyone know a diff. command other than "code check" to check against the steel code.

Thanks.

Have you tried editing the input file? I've found that sometimes when you set something through the gui it won't work, but if you change it in the input text file it will. Try changing it in this section of the input file.
