Wood Connection Question

I am tasked with designing a small wood connection that is repeated all over a project. The connection is subjected to an impact load. The NDS addresses the duration factor for connections as follows:

Reference design values shall be multiplied by the
load duration factors, CD <= 1.6, specified in 2.3.2 and
Appendix B, except when the capacity of the connection
is controlled by metal strength or strength of concrete/masonry
(see 11.2.3, 11.2.4, and Appendix B.3). The impact load duration
factor shall not apply to connections.

So we are not allowed to use the impact load duration factor for connections, however, would we be allowed to use the duration factor of 1.6 for an impact load (since the verbiage states the CD should be less than or equal to 1.6)?
