Looking at sprinklers in a 100+ year old theatre renovation.
Why does everyone else get the simple, clean warehouse jobs and I stuck with stuff like this?
So the architect tells me they're going to install a suspended ceiling below the wood lath about to the line of molding you see 1'-0" or so beneath.
Photo here
The attic above the lath is kind of neat, a heavy timber 6 in 12 pitched roof protected using a dry pipe system. Question is area below the wood lathe... if the space is more then 6" then I feel it would require another level of sprinklers. I want to tell the owner to simply remove the lath or install the ceiling within 6" of the wood lath.
Do you agree?
