Hi,
I need an advise on qualifying piping WPS (SA 106 Gr B) to be based on Plate (SA 516 Gr 70) PQR.
Another question is that whether the WPS for plate (SA 516 Gr 70) can be used interchangebly for a pipe to pipe (A 106 Gr B) welding as the group no of both these metals are the same. I noticed that the weld positions as for QW-405 for both plate and pipe are not totally the same.
Sorry for asking this fundemental question as I'm not a welding Engineer. Also, I've been trying to search on ASME IX on my 1st question but to be unavail.
