I need some help. My company wrote a WPS /PQR and preformed the coupons to be tested and they all have passed. but the issue I'm having is the thickness range was wrote wrong on the WPS and the PQR. The welder performed the coupon with a 2" S40 and the range thickness says .088 - .216. My customer wants a .226 thickness range. my question is do i need to have a new coupon done and rewrite the WPS / PQR for this range or can i work of this wps /pqr without changes.

Per table 4.2 of AWS D1.1 charpter 4, you have tested 2" SCH40 pipe, then this PQR can cover the thickness range is 1/8" to 3/4". Obviously, 0.088" thickness cannot be supported by this test. You don't need to test a new coupon, just revise the wrong WPS is OK.

For you to have a thickness range of 1/8-3/4, you would have had to test on 2" sch 80. Your numbers indicate 0.125 - 0.308 thickness range and should be corrected on the documents and show the revision change provided the PQR displays a 2" sch 40 for test size.
