Dear experts
i want to check the local stress during lifting in a tower around of a trunnion.
i have checked its trunnion in code calc. and check wrc107 in its related page but after calculation in its report maximum allowable stress for wrc in this case(trunnion lifting) are "1.5*Sa" and check calculated stress with "1.5*Sa" . while if I calculate local stress in code calc. separately and prepare a WRC107 file separately with considering equivalent of loads on tronnion, the calculated stresses are same as result of "wrc107 in trunnion TAB" but they are checked with "3*Sa*.

does anyone know whats this different?
and can I check calculated stress with 3*Sa?
why code calc consider 1.5*Sa for this case ( just for lifting trunnion?

Best Regards

What stress are you comparing to which value? WRC107 is a method of calculating stresses. You should be following the guidance of ASME Section VIII, Division 2, Part 5 for determining what to do with those stresses that you calculate.
