Dear friends,
I have windows NT and windows 98 second edition on the same hard disk. Somehow my pc got infected by wyx virus. I tried to remove it with AVG antivirus, but was not successful. Then I booted from a clean disk and transferred the system to c:. Then onwards, my pc does not give an option to go to NT or 98. It directly goes to Windows 98. The virus is still there.
Anybody couls suggest any remedy
Thanks
Arun

The WYX virus affects only the master boot record. What has happened is you've replaced the system files from the Win98se boot disk, which has overwritten the MBR with files from the floppy. Unfortunately, this means it has removed the option to boot into NT.

You've probably got rid of the virus, but I can't remember how to restore the NT option in the boot menu, especially as you won't be able to see the NT partition from Win98se.
