XLPE jacketed MV-105 cable

We have been approched by multiple customer from USA for XLPE Jacketed MV-105 cable. I have few questions regarding the same as mentioned below:

1. What is advantage of using XLPE jacket compared to other type of jackets.
2. Why the requirement of XLPE jacket is increasing in USA.
3. Which type of industry requires XLPE jacketed MV-105 cable.

XLPE jacketed MV-105 cable (to me) means a medium voltage cable, with XLPE insulation rather than EPR, and it needs to have a jacket. The jacket could be PVC, PE or SCPE.

You sure there isn’t some confusion in the way you were asked?
 
XLPE is halogen-free. Plastics that contain halogens such as PVC have applications restrictions due to toxic decomposition products, are not recyclable, and are not incinerable.

The marine industry is a big user of XLPE jacketing, often called "low-smoke" cable.

There are a lot more industrial applications than just marine looking into the hazards of smoke related to cable faults, including but not limited to mining, petrochemical, forest products - including pulp and paper, and cement. For an outdoor installation with good ventilation around the cableways, the prospect of smoke from burning/damaged cable jackets is not so severe. But for enclosed spaces - including inside buildings of any type - the "low smoke" option is becoming more prevalent.

Same idea with how health folks are going after tobacco users for second hand smoke ...

if it is used for Low smoke, then why not use LSZH Jacket instead of XLPE Jacket?
 
To be specific, LSZH appears to use XLPO (XLPOLYO) insulation and XLPE is a sub-type of XLPO. LSHZ stands for low-smoke, zero-halogen so it's not a very specific term.
