I need help in determining the yield lines for a square plate that has two adjacent edges with simple supports and the other two adjacent edges are "free" with a concentrated load applied at the intersection of the two free edges. This is to be a model of an angle base plate subjected to tension. (The simple supports represent the angle legs, the point load represents the anchor bolt.) Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Shapton,
The yield line will be a line connecting the ends of your simple supports. Thus design your plate for the moment created by the eccentricity of this line from your anchor bolt. If you have only one bolt securing the angle in tension it may be a better idea to place this one bolt as close to the centroid of the angle as possible to minimize the base plate thickness.
