CorTen is a tradename for a weathering high strength low alloy steel. Use the generic terminology and you'll have better results if you are looking for information.

This was a bit lazy. The internet and the manufacturer have good data. Probably something in the E-T archives as well.

Generally speaking, many carbon steels loose about 50% of their yield and tensile strength at about 800 degrees F. There are some tool steels that hold their yield and tensile strengths up to about 900 degrees F before the properties drop off quickly.

You could look in one of the ASME construction codes to see if it lists allowable stress at temperature, but I doubt you will find a weathering steel among those materials listed. Weathering steels are generally not intended for pressure vessels or piping. That being said, you could look for a material that has a similar chemical composition. I guess it depends on your application.

ASM would also have the information you are looking for as suggested by Dhurjati Sen.

Best regards - Al
