Hello guys,
when designing a structure subjected to thermal loading, the young modulus of concrete is reduced by 50%, E/2, to count for the cracking effect in the concrete due to this loading and hence to reduce the amount of internal stresses and reinforcement in the concrete section, otherwise a non-linear cracking analysis shall be applied to count for the cracking effect due to temperature loading .. I was looking in the Eurocode2 however couldn't find this assumption .. Can anyone help me finding this in the Eurocode2 or other codes ?
Thanks.
