Z-Wire Break

We have been running out Amada FO-3015 laser and keep getting a z-wire break alarm. I know what is wrong and I know how to fix it. BUT........Is there a different way to make the connection between the wire and the laser head? Our connection just gets so loose using it the way it is. I'm not sure how long ago the wire and connectors have been replaced. Could it just be a worn out connector? Thank you all for your help, its greatly appreciated.

i have the same problem before, but for me the only solution i did is to change the cone where the jack is attach or the panel jack, i think your jack is already worn out.

With a z-wire break I replace the connector on the cone first thing. If you look at the connector sometimes you can see the small pin has broken off and is stuck in the wire. If you go to pierce or cut and the head keeps rising up your cone is bad.

are you using an external or the internal Z sensor wire. either or I'm surprised you're having a connection issue. on our fo3015's we have had to replace the Z sensor wire cable on them, but as far as the cone goes, it was replaced due to just general wear. not sure if you do these things or not. but will help others that come along, when we get a Z sensor wire ( we Use Internal ) break. it is because of 3 things generally, Dirt has gotten between where the come mounts to the head. the ring to the cone has become lose. or slag has built up on the connectors, or blow diverter. also on your air lines going into the cone, if they have the metal conduit on them I would suggest taping them up with some electrical tape.
 
It is an external z wire but we ended up finding the problem. The connection to the little brass fitting was fine and soldered right. Although the amount of flex in that short wire broke it about 2 inches back inside the shrink tube that was put on. So long story short. We cut back the extra wire and re-soldered the fitting back on and not a problem since. Thank you all for the help. But if anybody does find another way to connect those without soldering a wire to a small brass fitting do let me know.
