Zinc based Primer on Stainless Steel Flange

Problem: Overspray from painting a carbon steel unit coated a stainless steel flange with a zinc based primer. We are worried about possible field welding that might allow the zinc to penetrate the stainless steel resulting in liquid metal cracking.

Question: What is the best way to clean the stainless steel flange without sand blasting the unit.
