If you are properly trained, I guess you can. The question is msy you?
For this answer you must check with local authorities.

If the nameplate says it is rated for a zone 1 environment with the gas group in that area and with the temperature class appropriate for that gas group, then yes. If that lot has little-to-no meaning then you really need to get expert help. I believe the ATEX legislation makes you personally liable if you get it wrong.

With Exe machines you need to consider the disconnect time. It will be stated on the nameplate as Ia/In. This is the amount of time in seconds that it takes the external surfaces of the motor to rise above its T class temperature rating if it is stalled. the motor MUST disconnect within the stated time period otherwise you risk auto-ignition of any surrounding gas or vapour from the overheated motor.
As Scotty says, ATEX is a minefield and I too would advise you seek profesional advice.

Under ATEX any equipment for installation in a potentially explosive atmosphere must be marked by the manufacturer with the appropriate CE and Ex marking (eg Category 1G,2G & 3G for gases and vapours, 1D, 2D and 3D for dusts).

If the equipment is so marked then you, as the purchaser, are entitled to presume conformity.

So it's always best to buy equipment specific to the application when dealing with ATEX.
