Solidworks 2001

I've got a few questions regarding the "link properties" in drawing sheets.

Question 1.

I would like to know if there is a way to have solidworks ask you a series of link properties prior to starting a model? This will ensure the user to always remember to input any useful information that will be needed down the road.

Question 2.

Does anyone know how to place a space between the : in the solidworks drawing scale link property, so instead of viewing 1:2, I would like to see 1 : 2 for clarity.

Question 3.

The solidworks filename link property replaces the part number in the drawing sheet. I would like to know how I can tell Solidworks to replace only the part number if I saved my part as the 1234-500-01_Spacer Block. 1234 being the project code, 500 being the project section, 01 being the first part of that assembly and spacer block as an identifier, which provides me with a description without loading the part? I would only want 1234-500-01 to appear as the part number.

Question 4.

When I start a drawing, I provide a sheet format. I then detail a part and edit all of the link properties accordingly. Presently, adding a new sheet with a format forces me to re-edit all of the link properties that I edited in the previous sheet. I would like to know if there is a way that I can make a copy of the updated link properties without having to re-issue the same ones over again for the same part with multiple sheets?

Any response will be greatly appreciated!!

Too many questions for 1 thread!, dont you think?

Question 1.
I dont know how to do it. But you can try the following:
* In a new part create document properties (such as tittle, author, etc.) and save it as template.
* Make a drawing template with box fields requiring part properties (external properties).
So every time yo make a drawing you will have to fill the part properties in order to see this data on the drawing. After this, you can add a macro I have created that create and change the part properties (it does somethings more but you can take a look on that, and make the changes you want.)

Question 2
I dont have no idea!!

Question 3
I dont have no idea!!

Question 4
Using a drawing template with the properties linked to an external part, the linked notes will be filled with the properties from the first part view inserted on the drawing.

I hope this can help you. You can contact me any time you want.
E-mail me to send you the macro I have made.

Question 2
i have no idea either!

Question 3

Use the custom properties, and in the Drawing template where your linked value is showing the part name, edit that annotation and replace the link to partname ($PRPSHEET:"file name") , with the variable Part Number($PRPSHEET:"Part Number") these are both stock custom properites items. assign the value of your part number (1234-500-01) to the to the part number variable. Make sure you have the "from model specified in sheet properties" option selected.

Hope that helps
