We have a machine that uses air-punches to place a feature onto a gear. The feature is unsatisfactorily developed if the air pressure in the lines isn't high enough, and I want to indicate this by faulting out the machine with an error and preventing further production is air pressure isn't high enough.

Is there anything I can install in line with the air line to sense this? We are maybe talking 115 PSI. The only solution I could find were these parker sensor, but I am unfamiliar with them.

Am I on the right track? Can anyone give me a hand?

There's plenty of inexpensive pressure sensors with digital outputs out there on the market. I think I remember has one, among many more. You can plumb in a shunt circuit to know the pressure of your punch line. When pressure falls below a pre-determined setpoint, you get a signal.

would`nt a simple pressure switch work... like on a air compressor. simple an inexpensive with a relay for control..

I thought ifemfector? was the best pressure switch manufacturer. Always had a solution and their pressure switches were very versatile and very reliable and very simple to use.

I have used a Festo switch like this, push lock fittings and I believe you can get a reed output or order it as PNP or NPN, with a pico fast QD, and it is programmable

Plenty of airswitches on the market. I'd be looking at you sideways if you suggested to me that we wait for air pressure to build however. I want quality production and I want it now.
