P.Eng or CPEng

(Ontario and New Zealand respectively)

*smiles*

All sarcasm aside, I have noticed that most US engineers use P.E.

Working in New Zealand, thinking of my snow covered home...

"When signing an engineering work, the engineer shall utilize the designation “P.E.” or other terms as described in..."

That's from the Texas state rules, check in your own state and see if they say in the rules.

The first time I cashed a check with that on it the teller asked how gym class went today.

I explained her error, at which point she said they wouldn't cash business checks through my personal account.
In the end the joke was on me!

"Correct"? Come on now...

Search the Texas rules, and you'll also find "PE" sans periods.

Looking at my Florida license on my desk is says PE, but it also shows P.E. Number: at the bottom of the license

I use P.E.

I use PE, as do other engineers in my office.

That's a funny story StructuralED. A friend of my grandfather once asked what I did. I replied "an engineer", and she said "oh, how neat it must be to drive a train". I laughed and said "not quite, I drive a mouse". I don't think she had ever used a computer though? :)

and she said "oh, how neat it must be to drive a train"

It's not my job to drive the train,
the whistle I can't blow;
but let the damn thing jump the track
and see who they let go!
