Can I show a full crop section in SW 2007? I have a section view that's cropped and only displays the crop geomety that it's cutting though. I searched thought the options and help, but can't seem to find anything. I know under the detail function there's a full outline check box, but the crop doesn't have this option. I believe this was doable SW 2006.

I don't think I've ever done that... since 2003 or 2004. I suppose you could draw a sketched corcle in your drawing & "fake it". Personally, I have no gripes about the default oputline.

Anyone else have any comments?

TateJ,
I rather not fake it if I don't have to. Just want to see if I'm missing something in the options

Best,

I believe the issue is that you can't Crop a Section View. What you are showing is a Detailed View of a Section View. You can do what you are asking in other views with a closed Spline.

I guess a work-around would be to create an extruded cut the way you want it to look in your assembly and save it as another configuration. Pop that view into your drawing, and you should be able to get where you want to be.

Seems like a PITA for something that should be simple.

Cropped view works the same in SW06 as it does in SW07. I have tested this here myself. My lines of course were not that phantom style line though. I think you will have to control that via the Line font in your Doc props option of your drawing.

My process was to make a circle and crop out everything outside of the circle, which it do so very well in both versions.

Tested with both standard views and section views. You cannot crop a detail view though.

Understood Scott. Thanks for looking into this for me.

Yes, I did change the line font on my end to Phantom.

I had turned in ER's on this for the past 3 years. I was told this may be a fix in SW '08.
