Hi people!!!

I need to simulate a TMD device (tuned mass damper) in a bridge but until now I was not able to do it.
I've tried to do it like it was mentioned in this post:
Inside the link elements menu of the program there are many types of supports that allow a similar property definition (for instance, Linear, Damper, and Hook). All these Links allow the assignment of a Mass, a Stiffness and a Damping value, which are the three main properties to defining a TMD. Thus, I don't know what is the most appropriated to simulate a linear stiffness TMD.

Another doubt is concerned with th analysis. It is possible to carry on a time history analysis for a bridge with a TMD using the Modal Superposition method? Or it only possible by carriyng on a time history with direct integration (for instance, by using Newmark's method)? I've got this doubt because TMD introduces Damping in a specific point of the structure (different of the structural damping). Thus, the TMD effect should exist only for vibration modes that excite the vertical movement of the point of the structure where the TMD is placed.

Anyone could help me with this?

Thanks in advance
