Hi
I am trying to simulate an airfoil with ailerons and a flexible skin at the hinge line. I have no problem simulating the actuators and the dynamic trailing edge section, but as soon as i add two leading edge plates i run into meshing issues. No failed mesh warnings are given, but a warning message stating that 'mesh volume is significantly lower than model volume' is displayed, and the leading edge plates are clearly not meshed. The leading edge plates are thicker than the smallest components so i dont think it is a mesh size issue. I have tried meshing them as shells but this is not satisfactory as i need to use pin connectors, which are not compatible with shell elements. I have the same issue with the flexible section.
I have tried building the assembly without any of the actuation system and there was no problem meshing the 10mm thickness leading edge, or the 1mm skin...hence i have no idea why it wont mesh on the full model.
Also, is there any way of specifying a displacement rather than a force in Cosmos? I realise it can be done with the motion tool, but this assumes rigid body motion and i have flexible members.
Any help would be much appreciated!
