Hi everybody,
Does anyone know how to calculate the traction force required for the traction machine onboard a pipelay barge based on the weight lenght and dimeter of the pipes and how to calculate the ground traction. I heard about special specific gravity but I dont have clear idea on how to start the calculations.
thank you

Assume the pipe is a catenary curve and calculate the tension forces necessary to hold the profile you want.
