Anyone know any good spreadsheets out there for forecasting employment needs by discipline based on projected and existing contracts?

A friend of mine is getting swamped with work by several major clients, and I can smell uncontrolled growth coming. [surprise]

He needs a good employee management tool. [idea]

If you use all of the capability that is built into MSProject to plan your projects, then it is a simple matter to display resource requirement levels versus time. I used this tool to show my **PREVIOUS** company management that there would be severe shortfall in quantity of engineers starting at a specific week of the year. They blew me off as being "too detailed" and opted for a more simplistic model using guesstimates and MSExcel because they could graph it easily.

Much to their surprise, the shortfall happened right on schedule causing much chaos, upset customers, monetary loss, & pain.
