I require good quality software for designing composite beams.

Hi,

I prefer software for this task that is standalone as already have analysis software and would not want to purchase new.

Any more ideas would be gratefully received.

masterseries and csc both offer stand-alone modules for just the composite beam design

One thing you might want to think about that would be very beneficial: Study the design calculations required for composite beam design and write your own spreadsheet. This does two things, first - it forces you to intimately understand the entire flow of design logic and code requirements. You can get many good design examples from steel design textbooks.

Secondly, you then create a "software" product spreadsheet that can be formated just how you want it - and can be developed to be generic for future project uses.

The calculations for a straight, composite steel beam is not that complex.

Lastly, if you don't want to go the spreadsheet route - the RAM site I listed above does include a program called RAMSBEAM that is a stand-alone composite steel beam program, not a full-blown analysis program. If its not on their website - call them about it.
